About 2 weeks ago I sent in pictures of my collage of Anastasia, as they request, and it was graded last week and today I received the grade which is 80% which is pretty good. It was the last assignment of the course.

I watched the "I Survived" episode and my heart broke for Anastasia's family and I could not help but feel the terror she and James went through when they first realized the gun was real and shots were fired. My understanding from watching the program was that the police were present prior to this psycho killing this beautiful young lady. Also after shooting her once he walked over, after the police arrived, and shot her 12 more times. If that is the case he could not possibly have been totally obscured by James therefore giving the officers a few seconds to shoot and end the situations. I don't buy the excuse for not shooting if things went the way the program portrayed. Either the officers were not proficient with their weapons and did not know the capabilities of them, had not received the proper training for making these kinds of decisions or were restricted from shooting by their departments regulations. Unless this nut-job was 35 or 40 yards away from the police I think something is not right. Any way you cut it that police department possibly failed Anastasia and James if events transpired the way the program said it happened. If I was a member of this young ladies family I would want some answers.

It's not something anyone likes to think about, btw, and we can understand that her family and friends have difficult emotions to deal with.

Princess Stacey: fondly remembered, never forgotten, sorely missed.

I saw the episode and it was a little too real for me—something I don't like to think about—but nothing I didn't know before. James certainly deserved his medal. And I have difficulty imagining such a loss as something that can be gotten over.

I know only 2 or 3 of her poems but, in the aftermath, this for me was without doubt the most heart-breaking part but she shines through them and lives on through them and the pictures and the memories. Some of the pictures I find endearing, especially the 1 where she's laughing, a moment frozen in time that lasts forever, and I don't want to be too presumptuous or anything since I'm not in that number who knew her, but I would think that's probably how she'd want to be remembered.
